Tyler and The Night Before Christmas

I love the Christmas books we have out now for the Christmas season.

The other night Tyler was playing in the living room and decided to take a break and look at this book.

He was just so cute looking through it quietly that I had to get some pictures of him.

The book is "The Night Before Christmas," the Golden Book version, and it was David's from when he was younger.

I love the old illustrations, especially the family at the end.

Tyler was looking at that page for quite a while, so I think he does, too.

He's One!

My Sweet Tyler is a 1 Year Old now!
How did time go by so quickly?

Tyler is now an expert walker and has been walking and not crawling, for one whole week!
He started walking on July 14th and since then has gotten better and better!

Tyler started crawling at 10 months old, and was so happy to be able to catch up to his brother.
At that time he decided he did not want to play with baby toys as much, but wanted to play with Brad's toys.
Sometime he would crawl to the kitchen set and play in the draws that he could reach.
Other times he would crawl to his or Brad's room to see what he could get into.

One thing I wanted Tyler to get better at was drinking from a sippy cup, or bottle, and eating.
Since Tyler has turned one he now drinks from a bottle and actually whines and "asks" for food, especially when someone is eating without him.
It has been so much easier these past couple weeks since he eats and drinks well!

Of course he is still a momma's boy and will probably continue to nurse for a while.
He still gets up once a night usually to do so.

As far as speaking, he is still just saying Ma Ma and occasionally "Da."
He likes to say "Wa" and has been saying this for a while.
I don't think it means "what," we are not sure what it means, but it's cute anyway.

It has been so much fun to watch Bradley and Tyler play together more.
They love to play Legos (the big Duplo ones) together and climb on things and make messes in the living room.
It will be fun to see what Tyler does next!
Happy birthday, sweet boy!

9 Months

I'm posting Tyler's 9 month post quite late (over a month- 10 month post will be up soon!), but better late than never!
He turned 10 months recently and is growing so fast!

At 9 months
Tyler was able to sit up easily from a lying down position.

Shortly after he turned 9 months is when he actually pulled himself up to standing.
At his 9 month appointment he weighed 19 1/2 pounds and was 28 inches long.
He is in the middle for height and weight but about 75% for head circumference (like his brother).
He did not receive any shots at that appointment, just a blood draw to check for lead and hemoglobin counts. Perfectly normal.

My little boy also learned how to feed himself!
Mommy was so nervous about him eating a graham cracker but we practiced at mom's group (thanks for the support, ladies) and now he is a pro at eating crackers and some finger foods.
If we could just work on drinking out of a bottle, or something!
As far as his teeth, he still has four on top and three on the bottom. He seems to be teething every now and then but nothing else is coming through.

Gonna Getcha!

Just recently, Tyler has discovered he can get back at his brother now that he is crawling.

David and I were on the other side of the living room talking when we heard Brad cry out.

We looked over and saw our 9 month old "getting" his brother.

I think Tyler has been waiting for this opportunity for a while now.

I guess it's only the beginning...

...of brotherly wrestling matches love. :)

Stroller Buddies

 I love these stroller buddies!

Tyler loves sitting forward now and looking at everything.

Brad wanted me to take a picture of his hand.
So I obliged.
It's the least I could do now that he smiles when I ask him to. :)

And even if that smile is a little silly and distracts his brother, I still love it.

I love these stroller buddies and am so thankful for them.

They are the perfect company on our walks. :)

8 Months

My sweet and precious Tyler is 8 months old!

Tyler, you are such a sweet baby, but you definitely know what you want and let us know!
You like playing with your brother, and laughing with him, but when you want your space you let out a whine or scream to let him know.
You still prefer Mommy and Daddy when we are not at home.
This also is true if someone is at our house.
You are doing a little bit better, but if we are out for a few hours, after a while Omie says you start to frantically look around for Mommy and Daddy, and then you don't stop crying until we come home.
We are also working on getting you in Church nursery. You still sit with us during the service, or one of us goes in the nursery with you during prayer time and/or the sermon.
Oh, and when Daddy gets home, you totally forget about Mommy, and whine for him to hold you as you reach out for him. :)

I think you definitely grew this past month more noticeably than you did between 6 and 7 months.
You now can get up on your knees and rock.
You can turn over with ease and have started to sleep on your side in your crib, instead of your tummy.
And teeth 5 and 6 made an appearance (and today the 7th popped through)!

Two weeks ago was a big step for you, you went into your own room.
Daddy moved your crib one Saturday and you've been in there since.
Mommy will go get you when you cry and bring you back to our bed so I can nurse you. Sometimes you stay asleep with us for a couple of hours before I bring you back to your crib.
You seem to sleep longer in your own room. Sometimes you will still wake up between 10-1, but it seems more and more you don't get up until after 3.
I miss you so much in my room, and usually you slept next to me in bed, but you're a big boy now and are doing fine in your own room.

You still can't go forward in your walker, usually you are just content to sit and watch Bradley and I.
That might be why you don't crawl yet, either. You do sometimes try and go forward from a sitting position on all fours, but that is as far as you can go.

You are a big baby boy. I call you my "squishy baby." I love to just hug you, and kiss your big cheeks. You are starting to grow out of your 9 month clothes, and 12 month sizes seem to fit you better.
You seem to be a bigger boy than your brother was and can fit into things he was wearing at 18 months.

You are eating more baby food now. At lunch and dinner you eat baby food and we try with a bottle, or a cup, or sippy, of milk or water. You don't seem very interested in food, and you don't want to bother with any "puffs" or "yogurt puffs" in your mouth but Mommy keeps trying. Obviously, you are growing into a healthy boy so I am not worrying as much as I was at first. :)
We love you so much Tyler and can't wait to see what you will learn to do this month!

Spring?

We have been loving this weather!
I can't believe it is still technically Winter.

Brad was running around outside in a long sleeved shirt and shorts today.
He even played in some mud!

He's been cute with the camera recently. He'll want to get a nice picture and then sometimes asks to see it.
He also tries to get in his brother's photos, too.
He probably doesn't want to be left out. :)

This little guy just LOVED looking around outside today, and watching his brother play.
We had the BEST day!

We went for a walk today and I'll have to post the pictures up of that tomorrow.
I remember four years ago, I went on a walk on March 3rd, it was gorgeous outside.
I was surprised to have a wonderful day of weather then, I can't believe we're having a whole week of it now in the beginning of March!

The Big Snow

Last week Bradley finally had his winter snow to play in.
On went all the winter gear.
I put the boys in the wooden sled we have that was given to us, on a blanket, to keep them warm.

And I pulled them around the house, finding out quickly that, two little boys are much harder to pull than one little boy.

Bradley loves the snow, as any little boy would.

I'm not really sure what Tyler thought of it.

He was bundled up so much he had to choice but to just sit and watch the snow fall, and Bradley play.

Bradley managed to climb his play set stairs, even with all his winter gear on.

Sliding down a slide with snow at the bottom is fun!

These sweet little moccasins were a gift for Bradley before he was born from "Uncle D." He got them on a class trip to Boston.

This was the extent of the the boys enjoying the snow together.
Hopefully next year, when Tyler is walking, he can have more fun.

I'm glad we got at least one good snow storm this winter for Bradley.
I remember there being much more snow when I was a girl.
I hope next winter is not the same!

Bradley played some more on his play set, and ate some snow.

Then Tyler let us know he had enough and inside we went.
I asked Brad if he wanted hot cocoa but he said he wanted tea.

So we warmed up our wet clothes, and had ourselves some hot tea.
