Five Qustion Friday

My Little Life

Wow, it's been probably a month since I've participated.
I'm back!
Not that anyone missed me doing this. Haha. :)
Click on the button above to check out Mama M's blog and her Five Question Friday blog hop.

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?
Yes, I did! I was actually surprised I passed because I never finished parallel parking. I kept trying to shimmy(is that a word? well, anyway, I think it applies here) the car into the spot and finally with the car still crooked and partway in the road the instructor said "ok, that's good, keep going down the road and take a left." I REALLY thought I wasn't going to pass but I did. Woo-hoo. :)

2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
There are so many that it is hard to think of something specific.
I think I have one though-
The lady that did the flowers for my wedding called to figure out some last minute details. She had a voice that is a little "nasally" It think that is how I would describe it. Basically it sounds like she had a cold and is pinching her nose.
Well, she called and I answered and she didn't say her name just "is this Heather?" I thought it was my Aunt Agnes but that she had a cold.
So I said "Oh, hi Agnes. Oh, do you have a cold? I'm sorry."
And she was like "No, this is...."
Oh my goodness!
I was sooo embarrassed!!!
Because, she obviously didn't have a cold, that's just how her voice sounds.
I hope she wasn't offended by that. She didn't say anything about it of course but I felt badly about it.

3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?
What Not to Wear!!
Really, can my friends set me up? Please! Just have them come in and throw everything away!
I'm fashion challenged (seriously, I need a stylist and a personal decorator for my house- me and my house, we're not too fashionable). :)

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?
No way! I'm not a fan of that. Unless you were in a some kind of accident or are deformed in some way and you needed to boost your self esteem, but other than that I'm not a fan.

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear?
Hmm....not a fan of jeans (check out Kate's Life, she isn't either and her vlog is really funny. :) But, I do wear them, out of the house. Once I'm home, the sweats are on!!
I have jeans issues. They never fit right but I FINALLY found ones that do!
Levi's CURVY flair. They actually come up enough above my behind so that when I bend over or something there isn't a huge gap. I have always had jeans issues. But once I found that style my husband told me to buy enough so I bought three pair. :)
Yup, I only have 3 pairs of jeans that I wear. :)

My Little Life

1. What are you most afraid of?
Something happening to my son or husband. But, then, I knew I would see them in Heaven some day....I still worry though. :) I'm a Mom, I can't help it.

2. Do you use a flat iron or curling iron?
I use both. Not everyday though. My husband likes straight hair so he bought me a really nice straightening iron. I like my hair a little curly, because it is naturally just barely wavy, so sometimes I use a curling iron.

3. Hands-free or phone to the ear?
When I am driving, hands free. Any other time- to the ear.

4. Do you have a matching bedroom set?
*Sigh* No, my bedroom set is not matching. The only thing I like about it is my Tempurpedic bed.
5. Do you believe in the paranormal?
As in aliens? No. I hate watching movies with them in it, too. I get scared even though I don't believe in them. I can tolerate ET. and Signs (which is weird because that movie actually shows them!) but that's about it for alien movies for me!

Five Qustion Friday

My Little Life
5 Question Friday- click on the button above to go to Mama M.'s and see more.
I completely spaced out and forgot it was 5 question Friday. I just put up a new post tonight, too!:-) Here are my 5 questions and answers:

1) Would you ever vacation alone?
I really don't think I would. I am admittedly not an independent person and I love experiencing fun things WITH people, especially my husband and son. :-)

2)Do you go the speed limit?
No, I don't. Now that I have my son, I more often than not, do. I used to speed more but have toned it down a lot.

3) Why did you start blogging/following blogs?

My first ever experience with the blog world was when my friend Lindsay started her blog in September 2009. I thought it was so much fun to read her blog and I could not get it out of my head to start my own. In September I started and I have really enjoyed it since. I love trying to improve my writing and sharing moments and adventures with my son and husband. I also think it is a great way to remember everything; it is my digital scrapbook. :-)
Generally I follow blogs that catch my eye. It could be that they have children around the same age as my son, or they are photographers, or they are just interesting to me. I started following Mama M. because she is a nurse and I think she is interesting. I believe the first post I read of hers was a hospital story and it captured my interest.

4)Where do you shop for yourself?
Typically I get my clothes at Gap, Gap Outlet, JcPenny and sometimes Target.

5) What was the song that you danced your first dance with your spouse to at your wedding?
Our first dance was "Keeper of the Stars" by Tracy Byrd. I listened to country music at the time and it is really a romantic song.

That was fun- now go check out more 5 Question Friday's at Mama M.'s!

5 Question Friday

My Little Life
To see more 5 Question Fridays- click on the button above that will take you to Mama M's!
1. What is better, growing old with out money or dying young and wealthy?
Growing old without money! Seriously, my life is so much more valuable than possessions. While my husband and I would never plan on this, as we definitely have been saving for retirement, if I had to choose, it would be age over money!

2.
Who takes out the garbage at your house?
My husband takes out the garbage. If it happens to be overflowing and he's busy then I'll do it.

3. Have you ever had the same dream many times?
Yes, I believe I have. Nothing about the future, usually just something I'm anxious about or something that made me sad in the past.

4. Can you play a musical instrument?
The piano! I took lessons up to level 4 while in school and I know enough notes to be able to learn new things if I want. I really like to play classical music. I don't play my piano as often as I should and unfortunately it is covered in clutter right now(but I will be cleaning it off today!) :-)

5. If you owned your own store, what would you sell?
I would sell baked goods, probably pies, and everything would be organic. I went to college for Culinary Arts (to be a better cook at home, not a chef) and the classes I enjoyed most were the baking classes. I happened to really pick up on the method of pie making. So, because it seems that it's harder for people to make and they have to buy pre-made crusts, I think I could make a lotta dough (pun intended) selling pies or just the crusts or dough! :-)

5 Question Friday

My Little Life
If you want to see other 5 Question Fridays then click on the box above.
1. Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?
I was kicked out of the library in my school, for two weeks during my 10Th grade year. I was laughing too loud with my friends during a study hall. I can be a quiet person, or so it would seem, but get me together with my friends, and I'm the loudest! Senior year of high school my history teacher had a little saying made up for each of us and how she would remember us, mine was :"I didn't know the quietest person in class was actually the loudest in the cafeteria." :-)

2.
Are you a morning person or a night person?
I am a night owl! It's not just because I have a baby. I was a night owl even as a child and teenager!

3.
Are you a one-handed or a two-handed Texter?
I don't text because I don't have that as part of my phone plan, but when I did text back in the day, I was mostly a right-handed, sometimes two handed texter. :-)

4.
Democrat, Republican, or Independent..or maybe even Green Party (whatever that is).
Conservative

5.
Are you a pet person?
Yes! I grew up with cats and we had a Norwegian Elk Hound, then a German Shepherd/Lab mix, then a Lab, and then a Lab/Doberman mix. My husband and I just have two cats, though- Tom and Jerry.

Five Qustion Friday

I'm playing today because I haven't played in a couple weeks and I have time while my little guy is still napping and the oven is preheating for dinner. Oh, and I finished organizing my kitchen. Well, the counters anyway. There will be a post about that later with the after pictures! :-)
My Little Life

1. What's your "comfort food"?
Chocolate, anything chocolate.

2.
Do you send Thank You's (handwritten or email)?

Handwritten "thank you's." I usually have thank you cards or cards that are blank on the inside on hand.

3.
If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?

Well, I have been watching a lot of I Love Lucy from Netflix, so I would have to say that. I would probably be another tenant in Fred and Ethel's apartment building. :-)

4.
What is your favorite online recipe site?

thepioneerwoman.com. My favorite used to be America's Test Kitchen website and Martha Stewart, but The Pioneer Woman has won my cooking heart!!

5. If you had to choose: "Friends" or "Seinfeld"?

Seinfeld is one of my favorite shows and I even have it on DVD (I just need the last season). Although, sometimes when I'm watching Friends I think it would be cool to live in NYC and I wonder what it would be like to be a "Friend" for a day. :-) That could also go along with question number 3! Haha. :-)

5 Question Friday

My Little Life
1. Which boygroup did you like most in your teens?
I really didn't listen to the radio when I was a teenager! But, I suppose a group that I like some songs of was N'Sync.
2. Do you do Christmas cards, letters, photos, nuthin', all of the above?
I never really thought I would do a Christmas card every year when I was married. Our first Christmas though, I actually started my tradition of sending one! I started out being all crafty and buying blank cards and using stamps and scrap booking pens to make a nifty and creative card. Then the next year, I bought the cards, but I still stamped some things on the inside- ya know, still being a little crafty. :) Then the year after that I just bought the cards and signed our names..ha! Same for the next year. That brings me to this year; this year I just took a picture of my son and went onto Shutterfly and picked out a card to put his picture on. All I had to do when I got them in the mail was address and stamp them. Honestly, next year I'm considering taking them up on their service (albeit I'll have to pay for it) of addressing the cards and sending them out for me!
3. If you could meet one celebrity who would it be and why?
Hmmm.....well, honestly I don't know if there is anyone that I really feel the need to meet. Why are these people famous anyway? They are good at sports? They can memorize lines and make you believe they are the character they are portraying? They are just like you and I, HUMAN! But, I will share that I have met a famous person, or persons I should say. I met three out of the four(just Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater and Richie McDonald) of the country group Lonestar. I was working in Subway and they came in to eat. They were traveling to a town maybe an hour away from where I was working, to do a concert. They walked in and ordered (the lead singer asked for a tuna wrap) and I said (with awe in my voice) "Are you Lonestar?? *jaw dropping*" (yes, clever, I know!) So, they said "yes," of course. Then Keech Rainwater shook my hand. I was wearing plastic gloves because I was making subs, and because my clean glove touched an unclean hand, I threw it out in front of him and got a new one. (I'm still a stellar employee and follow health code rules, even at the risk of insulting famous people). It wasn't until later that I realized I might have insulted him by throwing out the glove that touched his hand. Oh well, safety first! :-)
4. Favorite thing to cook with (i.e. stainless, non-stick, Dutch oven, microwave, debit card...or, perhaps, a cauldron, etc.)?
I am a stainless steal fan! But I also like cast iron. My stainless steel pans have plastic handles so they can't be transferred to the oven . My mom gave me an eight inch cast iron skillet when I got married and that is idea for something you might start on the stove top, but want to transfer to the oven. Also, I love Dutch ovens and borrow my mom's cast iron one so much that I just want to buy one already!! However, the price range is a little much, we're talking $200-$300. I really need to buy one in the next couple years, though, I use hers often enough!! Le Creuset would be my brand of choice. :-)

5. What is the one thing you wear the most, besides your unmentionables?
My pajamas. Should I be ashamed that when I get home I throw on a pair of pj's? Well, sometimes it is sweatpants and a t-shirt- same difference as pj's. :-) Hey, what can I say? I love comfort.
